4Intellectual property
The Noctave name and logo, the app, this website, their texts, visuals and code belong to the publisher unless stated otherwise. You may not reproduce, modify or distribute them without his written consent, beyond what the law allows (short quotation, private copy). This reservation does not apply to the components and content under free licences listed in the app (catalogue scores, libraries, fonts): they remain governed by their own licence, and nothing here restricts the rights it gives you.
The pieces in the catalog are public domain works. Their editions (score files) come from free sources or were written for Noctave; each keeps its license (CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA) and attribution, listed in the app: Settings › Account and app › Licences, entry “Scores of the Noctave catalogue”, and in each piece's details.
5Credits
- Great Vibes (Robert Leuschke), Fraunces (The Fraunces Project Authors) and Alegreya Sans (Juan Pablo del Peral, Huerta Tipográfica) fonts, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
- The app's piano sound: Splendid Grand samples (public domain) in the MuseScore_General SoundFont by S. Christian Collins (MIT license).
- Score rendering in the app: Verovio (LGPL 3.0), by Laurent Pugin, the RISM Digital Center and contributors.
- The app's sound engine: FluidSynth (LGPL 2.1) and its libraries, unmodified; the written offer for their source code is on the app's licences page.
- Reading scanned scores (Noctave Plus), on the server: Audiveris (AGPL 3.0), by Hervé Bitteur and contributors, used unmodified as a separate program.
- Chopin's Nocturnes (Op. 15, Op. 27 No. 1, Op. 32, 37, 48, 55 and 62): scores from First Editions of Fryderyk Chopin’s Music, © 2017-2021 The Fryderyk Chopin Institute (nifc.pl), chopinscores.org, encodings of the first editions at github.com/pl-wnifc/humdrum-chopin-first-editions, under CC BY 4.0; converted to MusicXML and adapted for Noctave.
The full list of resources and libraries, with their licenses, is in the app (Settings › Account and app › Licences).
